GPAT provides a range of assistive technology professional development and technical support services to local school system staff, students, and their families. Funded since 1991 as a special project of the Georgia Department of Education: Division for Exceptional Students, GPAT's mission is to develop and enhance local expertise in assistive technology to ensure that students with disabilities have access to the assistive technology devices and services that they need in order to participate, progress, and achieve in their educational programs.
